MAGAZINE
Managing Editor
I served as the managing editor for the critically acclaimed, semiannual print magazine and style editor of its daily cultural website from 2008-2015.
Dossier created an open discourse for a full, cross-cultural experience in one magazine. Content drew upon a wide range of interests, including fashion features, art and photography portfolios, fiction, poetry, critical essays, interviews with industry trendsetters, recipes, crossword puzzles, articles on film, architecture, music, culinary pursuits and more. The vision behind Dossier was to explore the organic pursuit of all things artistic and to illuminate links between the arts.
Partial contributor list:
Alexis Bittar, Agnes B, Alice Waters, Anne Collier, Ari Marcopoulos, Aurel Schmidt, Azaelia Banks, Cass Bird, Cecile Richards, Collier Schorr, Dan Savage, David Armstrong, David Lynch, Devendra Banhart, Elle Fanning, Emory Douglas, Francesco Clemente, Gary Shteyngart, Rinko Kawauchi, George Saunders, Hans Ulrich Obrist, iO Tillett-Wright, Jack Black, Jason Nocito, Jennifer Egan, Jack Pierson, Joel Meyerowitz, John Currin, Jonathan Ames, Juliette Lewis, Kate Lanphear, Kiki Smith, Kim Gordon, Lauren Hutton, Leigh Lezark, Lou Doillon, Malick Sidibe, Mark Ronson, Michael Pollan, Miranda July, Nan Goldin, Pamela Love, Paul Chan, Peter Sutherland, Phillip Lopate, Rachel Maddow, Ram Dass, Rene Ricard, Richard Kern, Rick Lowe, Robert Longo, Robert Pattinson, Rodarte, Roman and Williams, Sherman Alexie, Shirin Neshat, Stephen Shore, Stevie Nicks, Sheila Hicks, Sherman Alexie, Tavi Gevinson, The Selby, Vanessa Hudgens, Wim Wenders, Yoko Ono, Yayoi Kusama, Yusef Komunyakaa, Zac Posen and more.
Particularly known for championing young talent, Dossier featured the first print portfolios by Sam Falls, Theo Wenner, and Zoe Ghertner, and the first women’s fashion editorial shot by Cass Bird.
“Dossier, new biannual arts and culture journal, was created on the fancy-pants premise that people who are into fashion and art are probably also literate … The result is a curious poetry.” — The New York Times
